“Red-Eyed and Blue” by Wilco from Being There (1996).

Best moment: the bells and whistles (literally).
Wilco named this album after the wonderful Hal Ashby/Peter Sellers film Being There (1979) because they felt that the album had the same mindset as the film.
I bought this album when it came out in 1996. I was in 6th grade. The liner notes had an e-mail address for the band, so I wrote to Jeff Tweedy telling him how much I loved the album and that he knew my Uncle Bob (which he did). He wrote back within a few days, thanking me for the e-mail and kind words and that my Uncle Bob was a really cool guy (which he is).
I wish I had still had that e-mail.
If you like this, try: any/all Wilco albums. A Ghost is Born (2004) happens to be my favorite.

(Wilco will love you, baby.)
