“Roses are Free” by Ween from Chocolate and Cheese (1994).

Gene and Dean Ween (née Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo, respectively) met in eighth grade typing class, put together the words “wuss” and “peen,” and Ween was born.

And then they did a lot of drugs.

The Mighty Boognish

(The Mighty Boognish.)

In 2002, Ween was hired to write a jingle for Pizza Hut’s “Insider Pizza,” which had all the cheese in the crust.  This is what they gave them.  Deaner calls it “one of the best tunes we wrote (that) year.”  Pizza Hut hated it, and had them re-write the song.

And this is what they gave them.

If you like this, try: Ween’s Pure Guava (1992), The Mollusk (1997), and the fan-curated All Request Live (2003), featuring an incredible six minute version of “Where’d The Cheese Go?”

(Oh, and here’s the music video for “Roses are Free” by Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab.)
